3Nations Dementia working group: https://www.3ndementiawg.org/

The 3NDWG is a working group of people who are living with dementia within England, Northern Ireland and Wales. Members of the group support one another through friendship bonded through their shared experience of living with dementia. The group also provide webinars and events to support people with dementia, their loved ones and interested caring professionals. A steering group of 12 individuals lead on regional projects and campaigns to ensure that the voices of those with dementia are heard, particularly within social care.

The Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. They provide support services, fund important dementia-related research and campaign for social change.

 

Dementia UK: https://www.dementiauk.org/

Dementia UK is a charity that supports the families and loved ones of people who are living with dementia through the guidance and support of a specialist team of nurses called ‘Admiral Nurses’.

 

Dementia Alliance International: https://www.dementiaallianceinternational.org/

Dementia Alliance International (DAI) is an international team of people who have a diagnosis of dementia. DAI promote the support, advocacy and autonomy for people with dementia. They encourage awareness and education about dementia with the aim to eliminate stigma and discrimination associated with a dementia diagnosis. DAI campaigns to improve the quality of life for people with dementia by influencing necessary change in the private sector, healthcare professions and government legislation.

 

Dementia and Diversity research:

Dr Sofia Vougioulalou led the dementia and diversity project funded by the HEFCW enhancing community engagement which engaged under-represented communities in relation to ethnicity, disability and sexuality.

‘The  dementia and diversity films can be viewed on the Youtube playlist and were recently awarded the Dementia Friendly Wales Diversity Award

 

The Caring Practitioner: https://caringpractitioner.co.uk/ 

This is an e-learning hub, which aims to facilitate those in healthcare professions to become caring and compassionate practitioners. There are four main sections which cover ‘becoming a caring and compassionate practitioner’, ‘becoming a resilient practitioner’, ‘compassionate leadership’ and ‘developing skills for employability’.
